School Hours

The school is officially open at 8.35am so we ask parents/carers to take children to their classrooms from this time onwards when their teacher will be present. Registration occurs first thing in the morning and first thing in the afternoon. Entry before 8.40 a.m. should be by the outside classroom doors but any children arriving after 8.40 a.m. should be accompanied to the school office by an adult via the main front door of the school. Children should never be left unsupervised on the playground or anywhere else on the site.

• Morning Session 8.40 am – 12 noon
• Afternoon Session 1.00 pm – 3.10 pm.
• Please return children who go home to lunch no later than 12.55 pm to the school office ready for the afternoon session at 1.00 pm.

Please try to be on time. The teaching day ends at 3.10pm and the children will need to get their coats on and collect their book bags, so there may be a short delay until the door is opened and the children are shown out.

In a typical week, children spend a total time of 32.5 hours in school.

Morning playtime (Foundation Stage) – 10.15 am – 10.30am
Morning playtime (Key Stage One) – 10.30 am – 10.45 am
Lunchtime (Foundation Stage and Key Stage One) – 12.00 noon – 1.00 pm

Dropping off / collecting children

Please note that infant children should be supervised at all times, before and after school, by an adult. Please inform the school office if someone other than the usual parent/carer will be collecting your child from school, or telephone the school office in the event of an emergency so that a message can be given to the class teacher. If your child is collected by a child care provider or an after school club, you should send us a letter detailing the days your child will be collected or dropped off by the club.

Collecting / returning children outside normal school hours

When collecting or returning children at odd times (e.g. for urgent dentist or doctor’s appointments), please call at the school office. For security reasons children may not be collected directly from the classroom. Children arriving late to school or leaving school early must be signed in and out at the office.
