Duckling Class
Duckling class enjoy spending time on the outdoor gym. Lots of twisting and turning and competing against each other.
Abbie from Mini Mindfulness came to visit Nursery children and talked to the children about different emotions. She showed them some breathing techniques too. Visits from Abbie are very popular!
As part of our Seeds, Soil and Sunshine topic, Duckling class enjoyed learning about the lifecycle of a hen and were fortunate to meet 4 silkie chicks! Mrs Smith, one of our school governors also loved meeting them on one of her visits!
The mud kitchen is always a big hit in the school garden! The children enjoy mixing mucky ingredients together to make potions and spells!
Making it Real
Talk, Listen, Cuddle
Talk, Listen, Cuddle are the three ingredients needed to ensure young children get the best start in life.
Talk, Listen, Cuddle is an Essex County Council campaign which has been running since 2011. During this time the campaign has evolved thanks to the creation of various hard resources, family events across Essex, and a social media presence – to name a few!
Our aim is to help parents, carers and families give their young children the best start in life, developing their communication skills through playful learning at home. Please click on the buttons below to access a range of ideas, top tips and games to support children’s language and development in readiness for school.
This campaign is led by a small working group from the Essex Early Years and Childcare Team. Early childhood development is a passion for all of us and we are dedicated to spreading the messages about the importance of playful learning at home.
