The pupil premium grant provides funding from the Government to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in state-funded schools in England. At Hatfield Peverel Infant and Nursery School, we are committed to ‘diminishing the difference’ and improving academic achievement and outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. We have high aspirations for all our children. Staff are committed to ensuring that all children, regardless of their background, achieve well.
Children at Hatfield Peverel Infant and Nursery School all receive a universal free school meal. However, if you meet the eligibility criteria for Income and Credit Based Free School Meals set out below, your child may qualify for Pupil Premium which provides additional funding for the school currently £1515 per year per eligible pupil.
Are you in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit – if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
Pupil Premium funding is also available for looked after Children, children adopted from care and Service Forces children. It also includes pupils who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure).
If after checking the criteria you think your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding, please collect an application form from the school office or download a copy from the link below.
The pupil premium funding that school receives for your child will directly benefit their education. We use the funding to employ staff to run booster groups giving extra help in class, pay a subscription to the Witham Consortium of Schools which enables us to access helpful visits from various professionals and buy extra resources.
