Pupil Premium
Home E Key Information E Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium grant is additional funding provided by the Government to state-funded schools in England. It is designed to improve educational outcomes and boost the academic achievement of disadvantaged pupils.
At Hatfield Peverel Infant and Nursery School, we have high aspirations for all our children. We are deeply committed to ‘diminishing the difference’, ensuring that every child achieves their full potential regardless of their background.
Free School Meals vs. Pupil Premium Funding
Because we are an infant school, all children at Hatfield Peverel receive Universal Infant Free School Meals.
However, registering for income-based Free School Meals is still incredibly important. If you meet the eligibility criteria below, your child will qualify for Pupil Premium, which brings an additional £1,550 per year directly into the school to fund extra teaching support and learning resources.
Is My Child Eligible?
Your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding if you are in receipt of any of the following benefits:
- Universal Credit (with a net household earned income of under £7,400 a year)
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guarantee element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided your annual gross income is no more than £16,190 and you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit)
- No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) (subject to meeting low-income criteria)
