We are very fortunate to have Rosie (and Joyce) visit us each week. Rosie is a therapy dog and visits the children each week. It has been proven that therapy dogs can improve both mental and physical health by:
- Helping people feel calm.
- Providing comfort and help soothe emotions, especially SEND children.
- Lowers anxiety levels.
- Helps with communication.
- Petting a dog can help people to relax and release mood boosting hormones as well as decrease the stress hormone cortisol, especially in anxious or nervous children
A big thank you to Essex Therapy Dogs for providing us with this service. As you can imagine, she is a ‘big hit’ in school and everyone loves spending time with her!
